Hi, I'm Dr. Dawn! I love helping people make the changes they have been struggling with and see the growth they are capable of. I'm passionate about creating a safe space where people feel seen and capable of making the life they envision become a reality.
I primarily work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and all forms of addiction (I have extensive experience working with people with substance use disorders as well as behavioral addictions such as gambling, sex, and pornography). Often, the struggle isn’t a lack of willpower, but a nervous system that has been trying to survive for a very long time. I can work with you to help you understand how your symptoms feed into one another and process their origin and how to break free of the unhelpful cycles you feel stuck in. I see therapy as a space where you can slow down and understand how your protective patterns are keeping you stuck and how to re-regulate your nervous system so you can feel grounded, safe, and excited about life!
My approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I can guide you in exploring the parts of you that carry pain, fear, or shame and the parts that work hard to manage it. Rather than fighting against yourself, you can learn to build internal confidence and motivation. At the same time, you’ll gain practical, evidence-based tools to shift unhelpful thinking patterns, regulate your emotions, and move toward the life you want to live. Our work will help you anchor in your values, so change becomes about building a life that feels meaningful and aligned.
In addition to traditional therapy practices, I offer clinical hypnosis and am a member of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. Hypnosis is a focused, collaborative state of attention that allows us to work more directly with the emotional and behavioral patterns that may feel difficult to shift through insight alone. It is not about losing control or being “put under,” but about deepening your connection to yourself in a safe and structured way. Hypnosis is always guided by your readiness and consent. You remain aware and in control throughout the process. When integrated into therapy, hypnosis can help meaningful change take root in a steady and lasting way.
At its core, my work is about helping you return to your authentic self, not by forcing change, but by creating the safety and clarity that allows the change you want to make unfold naturally.
